I don't know Mr. William Marlin personally.
I've seen him, he's seen me, but he doesn't know who I am.
One of the weird things about St Maarten politics, is that most of the key players are related.
One of those odd relationships would be between Julian Rollocks, and his first cousin William Marlin.
Now, I do know Mr Rollocks, and if there's one thing that he loves to do in his spare time, is to tell another " good William Marlin joke".
Whenever Mr Rollocks is talking about his ploy of getting over on the NA, he affectionately refers to Mr Marlin as "Cuz".
And he gets hyper and as excited as a female, when telling these "gutter" stories.
So, I was sitting in parliament, with my laptop, camera and recorder as usual, and Mr Rollocks was involved in what some might call "dirty dealings" in his office.
He was collecting money on the Belvedere/Border Point Project, and of course he had another great joke to tell about his Cuz, William Marlin.
There was a third person present, as Mr Rollocks regaled us with tales of his latest misdeeds.
According to Mr Rollocks, the bulldozing that he did at Border point was illegal.
Not only was what he did illegal, he was explicitly warned by Mr Marlin, not to bulldoze the property, because Mr Rollocks was not authorized to do any kind of digging, building etc.
So what the sly Mr Rollocks did, was sneak in a backho, tractor or bulldozer, whatever it was, because they are all the same to me, in the middle of the night he claimed, and DID IT ANYWAY.
Oh, Julian was so gleeful as he related the story.
Having been in Mr Rollocks' presence for several months, this was not my first William Marlin joke.
There are lots, but this one seemed to emphasize the pleasure Mr Rollocks takes, in screwing other people over, especially William Marlin.
The Border Point story has so many different facets, that it probably needs a blog of its own.
Question:
Did Mr Rollocks sneak behind Mr Marlins back, to conduct illicit business at border point?
Did Mr Rollocks do this after implicit warnings not to?
Who is in charge of the Border Point Talking Drums Foundation?
Why is it, that Mr Laveist went to prison, but so many in the DP including Mr Rollocks, seem to be up to so much more, and yet their actions are ignored?
