Okay, I've been sitting on this story for the past two weeks, but I guess, I'm going to analyze the new political climate for a bit.
Jeffrey Richardson, was supposed to have handed in his resignation to DP leader, Sarah Wescot Williams several Sundays ago.
So, I waited for the press release, or some kind of statement from Jeffrey, but I was told that the DP did not want the news to become public, so I decided to sit, and wait.
Then,
I carefully read the article on the front page of the "Today", You know,The one where Ferrier put his resignation at the "disposal" of the DP.
My unique translation, was that Michael Ferrier finally said, "Either HE goes, or I go."
He of course would be Julian Rollocks, but we all know how great their relationship is, so that theory could not possibly be true!
Then Mr Rollocks made two brief appearances in the Today paper.
In my assessment, the first piece, was simply an article placed in the paper, by Mr. Rollocks, to say "Hey!"
"I'm still here"
"I'm still relevant"!
The second article featuring Mr. Rollocks, was far more interesting, and thus had to be read, and re-read.
The article on page 7 of the "Today" paper, first starts out with nothing but a long list of St Maarten Democratic Party misdeeds.I even learned for the first time of certain questionable moves by Maria, "The Sky is The Limit Foundation", etc. etc.
I was given a concise recap of ALL of the misdeeds of Laveist and Maria and Theo, etc. etc. etc.
We'll follow up on "The Sky is The Limit Foundation", at a later date. The article, gives the impression that Mr Rollocks is in St Maarten, handling his business, but he's not. He's been everywhere, but in St Maarten, for the past several weeks.
The Article seemed to appear for two reasons.
To give the appearance that Mr. Rollocks is very much in St Maarten, and in control(you know like how Osama Bin Laden sends out those videos, from random areas around the world, to give the impression that he's still alive, and a threat).
He also wanted to serve Michael Ferrier with a backhanded compliment, or basically a diss.
The most vital and telling piece to this whole article, is the final paragraphs.
The "old branches" perspective.
When Mr Rollocks returns to the island, is he going to let us know who these old branches are?
He then goes on to lay the blame at everyone else's feet, but his own, because St Maarteners are too stupid to realize who the main DP antagonist is/was.
BUT...BY FAR THE MOST TELLING STATEMENT WOULD BE THE LAST PARAGRAPH:..."We do not wish the Democratic Party any harm; because we think that a well-functioning democracy..."
If you read the article carefully, Mr Rollocks, who is supposed to be an integral part of the DP, their chief adviser, is not referring to the party as US,
Who are "WE" Mr Rollocks?
That statement clearly shows that there is no "US" in the DP any longer, if there ever was.
And if you are calling yourself "WE", the the Democratic Party, must now be considered THEM.
So that could be considered confirmation, that the DP is now a party of two separate factions.
Still I needed more evidence. So I did some online research, and...voila!Jeffrey Richardson IS a part of the new revolutionary party on FACEBOOK, which was set up by Alston Alvarino Lourens.
It's fascinating what you can learn, when you spend 18 hour days online.
TAKEN FROM JEFFREY RICHARDSON'S FACEBOOK PAGE(thanks for the invite Jeffrey):
SXM Needs a new Political Revolution!
Description:This is a group to begin the organization of a new Political Party on St. Maarten... A Political Representation of our Island's best Qualified, Dedicated and Educated young adults. So my question would be:
Is this Jeffrey's new party, or is that just another coincidence?
Is the DP separated into "Team Rollocks", and "Team Ferrier"?
Is Stuey going to jump ship soon? (Honestly, he told me that he's sticking with DP, but I simply don't believe him)
Is Theo Heyliger going to be a part of this "revolution", or is he really teaming up with Gracita to form ANOTHER party?
Yeah the Theo/Gracita rumor has been afloat for awhile now.
What can I say, they do make a cute couple.
And they cover most demographics. Gracita appealing to the Black and female demographic,
Theo covering the White/Asian and male demographic. I say White and Asian, because Theo can pass for both.
Don't ask me how that happened.
I do know that it would be interesting seeing some strong, new contenders
for the next elections.
When Mr Rollocks is considering trimming old branches, he must have considered the fact that Sarah Wescot Williams is the oldest branch on the tree.
That's not an ageist diss, it's a fact. And if you're considering all political experience,
Then Mr Rollocks, himself would have to be trimmed, considering the fact that
he's been in those same gutters, since Theo Heyliger was in Pampers.
I've been trying to stay out of politics, and work on my archives,
but sometimes I feel compelled......
j.r.

There is an old Democrat tradition, according to sources, which requires the candidate,
to walk into a district, slip a certain amount of cash into community leaders,
or organizers hands,
...... and then they need to do no more.
The community leaders, do not work for the party's, they are simply bought by them with a few dollars, to convince others to vote a certain way.
These people live in poorer areas, are less educated, and tend to be naturalized citizens.
This is supposed to be a common practice, and also according to sources, some candidates are expected to engage in these activities if they want to make the slate.
The bribe policy, we were told, was especially efficient, when it came to wooing the Laveist voters, who were undecided if they were going to stick with DP, or leave for the NA.
So my question for Stuart Johnson today would be:
Is bribing an acceptable practice in the Democratic Party?

Stuart Johnson, everyone read on Facebook, where you said that you would answer these questions.
You said that you couldn't address the illegal activities of your colleagues, but you would discuss St Maarten issues.
So far, I guess the pensioners, being of age, and legal,
are of no interest to you, even when your party and their policies are forcing them into illness, poverty and earlier deaths.
The "old-timers", are set in their ways, they won't change who they vote for!
That's the strategy right now,
and that's why no politician stood up for them during the FZOG fiasco, when they were planning to charge the retirees for their medicine.
OR
Deny them their medicine.
No politician was thinking about our seniors, when for three years money that was owed to them was held back (I guess with 500 guilders a month, and the cost of living skyrocketing, they felt like extra cash was something our seniors could do without.)
So Stuart, when you're posing for your next photo-op, pretending to be picking up garbage in Middle Region, like it's something you do every Saturday morning, realize that people see through publicity "stunts", and we will continue to ask you these questions, which you promised to answer.
And no,
We're not going to focus on you, and forget about the candidates who've been propped up with mental illness,
messy financial dealings,
and of course the ones who are "getting married", to provide that  work permit-
idiot!
We have many more questions, but those are minor questions.
We're going to start with the relevant questions, and work our way down.

and we won't stop asking, and we won't stop blogging.

Oh we realize, since elections is next month, you'll probably be all over the island with your Hefty bag, cleaning up the pollution, that's only visible during election time
But we have and will be documenting all so-called "leaders", who are talking through both sides of their mouths.
There's not an original savvy, political bone in your body.
It's all been done before, but this is a different era, whether you want to realize that or not. We document everything, just to call you out on your b.s., every time you open your mouth.
The way you stick to a speech, but can't answer a question,
we've noted that.
And,
the DP or Stuart Johnson are not targets, after all one of the excuses given to us about the "bribes", was that the NA was also doing it,
And that they actually, had  been beating the DP in the door to door exchanges, until more money was offered.
Great job Stuart,
be the politician who talks a big game, and then dodges the question.
A question about "bribing", is one any "honest" politician should be able to answer, without thought.
Why wait for an adviser, to tell you how to answer a straight forward, and honest question?
It's 4 a.m., I'm going to have some coffee, and do some real work.
And Stuart, enjoy you day
knowing that these questions will
not go away.

Hi Stuart,
I promise to keep this blog clean,
and free of sarcasm.
You wanted to know what our concerns were, and you said that they would be addressed, so here goes......
1) With the cost of living increasing, why are St Maarten pensioners allowed to survive on five hundred guilders per month? Do you, the government and the politicians (NA/DP) realize that the people who took care of you as children, are being forced to choose between food, and medicine? Now they are saying that, three years ago, the pensioners were supposed to get a cost of living increase, and it never happened.
Who in government is in charge of the welfare of our senior citizens who are incapable or protecting and defending themselves from these vultures?
Who will address these issues, and who will be punished for allowing our elderly to be skimped of the meagerly stipends that they are given each month, by a government who has no problems pouring millions into disastrous projects.
WHICH POLITICIAN WILL ADDRESS THE PENSIONERS ISSUE?
OR IS THIS QUESTION ALSO "TOO HOT TO HANDLE"?

This is an straight forward blog, no melee, innuendo or "gotcha questions"
Last night Stuart Johnson, we were involved in a somewhat tepid verbal battle about what the DP is and will do for St Maarten.
You said that you would address the issues, and the questions.
Here is the first question, and I really hope that you keep your word, and answer it as honestly as possible.

Will Maria Buncamper-Molanus be a part of the DP slate in January?

Those who follow St Maarten politics know, that it’s been a rough year for both Maria and the DP. Louis Laveist gets “caught up”, and now his future and his freedom, is very much uncertain. Theo defected to ”The Dark Side”, according to some DP loyalists, then Sarah and Maria allegedly, supposedly had a shoving match in front of  the Government Building. I don’t know anything about the shoving match, but I do know that in St Maarten it only takes three people to repeat a rumor or  a lie to make it a bonafide fact. The one common denominator, it appears in this whole DP fiasco has been the beautiful, the poised…..Maria Buncamper-Molanus.

All politicians realize that they will get their “licks” in the public arena, and most are very thick skinned, but it must sting twice as much, when the bulk of the criticism seems to be coming from within the Democratic Party itself, her friends, allies and co-workers.

I’ve met  Maria a few times, I don’t know her very well. She’s kind of a cross between Scarlett O’hara and Sarah Palin- Really!

Could St Maarten possibly have it’s own Sarah Palin? An attractive, well dressed but polarizing figure, who always seems to have the innate ability, to bring out the worst in those around her. I attended a couple of the DP rallys, Maria B.M. and the rest of the DP team were there. Maria was there, meticulously put together, fervidly cheering on Sarah,  Julian and the rest of the senior DP members, after their speeches.

I did have to wonder how much of it was just a political show.

I do believe that the romance has died between the Democratic Party and Maria Buncamper-Molanus, but the Democratic Party might have to suck it up, if they want to survive January’s  federal election.

Would Maria dare go rogue on Sarah? As a politico I would love to see that, but then again I’m a drama junkie. Maria going rogue would only damage the DP and Maria B.M.’s brand.

My solution for Sarah, Maria and the rest of the DP boys, would be to take a few method acting classes, practice your fake smile religiously, and come to the realization that you might not be able to stand each other, but you will have to put up a united front for your supporters as well as your detractors.
