Yes, some do think that the story is somewhat amusing,
but I was standing at LB Scott Road, heading to town, and got mugged by a St Maarten Academy student.
It was around 12:30, so there was the usual chaotic scene in front of the Academy.
I had to call a colleague, so I pulled out my cell and started to dial.
Someone ran by me and snatched my phone, as I was dialing.
It was so unexpected, broad daylight, and dozens of other students loitering around.
I stood there, and watched him run up the road, and make a left at Candy's Corner, and continued running up St Peters Road.
When I realized, that it was not a joke, that someone had "ganked" me, I ran his little ass down.
I don't know who he thought I was, but I've spent several years as a fitness instructor.
I caught up with him crouched in the bushes....
WITH MY PHONE.
There were two ladies in the yard, and I assumed that he lived there.
I said "your son stole my phone".
The one lady said "he's not ours, he just ran in here".
I turned to the boy, and said give me the phone, and I told the ladies to call the police.
The boy quickly handed over the phone, and ran back towards Candy Corner.
I saw him duck into the store, and got my cameras out.
I caught him hiding in the Chinese store, and recorded him.
He once again fled.
I have the footage, of this Academy student, and actually considered publishing the video online for everyone to see.
I have changed my mind, because he is a minor.
I won't show his face, just him fleeing from the scene.
The situation in St Peters is becoming more ridiculous.
Is there a reason why the St Maarten government cannot implement the same "stagger" system that they use in Europe and the US?
Why are hundreds of students allowed to congregate and loiter at the corner of LB Scott Road and St Peters everyday?
If the end of school times were staggered e.g.: MPC lets out at 2:00pm, Academy at 3:00pm, Sr. Magda at 12:30, and the buses immediately pick them up, and cart them away, we should not be having the mugging, robbings and machete fights that appear to be becoming more frequent in that area.
The lady at the bank said "weren't you scared chasing him?" "He could have had a gun or a knife."
I said "wasn't he scared robbing me?" "I could have had a gun or a knife"
Hundreds of unsupervised students on the streets of St Peters every weekday, has become the norm.
Even when the police show up, they have very little control due to the sheer numbers of students on the street.
Yes the police were called yesterday, twice!
But of course they did not show up.
I do have the video footage of the boy, in his Academy uniform and black school bag in my archives. I slo-mo'ed th whole thing, because he was running so fast.
As a former educator, I decided not to show his face, just a bit of his actions.
Has this issue gotten serious enough, or will there have to be some kind of rape or murder involved?
Are we awaiting Columbine?
The parents, students, and educators need to get together and protest the conditions at LB Scott Rd/St Peters to South Reward, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, before something goes horribly wrong.
If my only options were sending my children to any of the schools in the St Peters/South Reward district, I would home school, because the situation is dangerous.

You must make a example out of him, and have the authorities come down hard on him, yet you pleading his case with the Public Prosecutor fo mercy. Do not take it to the police but cut a deal with the P.P.by having him been called in and the law throw at him and have him cut a deal to stay straight, and turn away from his present life style. But you have to do something, otherwise he will get even more boulder and do worst. I do believe in giving him a break but not free, he must commit to something. And you must not look for others to do something for you, take the initiative, In my district i am single handedly (of course with God's help) making drug pushers and users uncomfortable, the tree the sat under I cut it down, the step they use to use to setup shop infromt of my store I bulldozed it and my parking I am now toing car away that are not coming to buy from my business and every now and then I call the cops have them raid them. It is working, do you know why I am doing my part taking back my neighbourhood are you? stop giving in to criminals.
